Maya Angelou’s poem Phenomenal Woman was the inspiration for the contemporary interpretation of a mid 19th century wood type poster. The typographic poster uses seven typefaces ( Romantique, Mesquite, Rosewood, Council, Playbill, Brothers, and Tuscan Egyptian Initials ) and various Wood Type Ornaments in earthy but feminine colours. When arranged the typography visually outlines the head, torso and upper thighs of a female form, which reflects the tone of the poetry.
