Princesa Cashews is a small business in the Philippine city of Puerto Princesa. The women who operate it, have been hand processing local cashews for over 20 years. They shell, cook, package and sell the cashews at the local city market. As part of a program called Students for Development, this project focused on using design to help improve the quality of life for entrepreneurs in Puerto Princesa. The development of unique branding and packaging for groups like Princesa Cashews creates opportunities by assisting in the growth of local businesses, ideally creating jobs in the process.
