The Altered States of America is a 10 minute excerpt from a larger documentary, which examines international perceptions of Americans and the institutions within the U.S. that contribute to its isolation. It is a unique exploration of the American people, their culture, and the fundamental role of citizenry in democracy. I transferred to Emily Carr from the Maryland Institute College of Art, where I worked on several documentaries advocating for social justice in Baltimore. I have a devotion to visual story, which has led to my focus as a cinematographer. This comes through in both my documentary and dramatic work (including a dp credit in Michelle Sykes’ Goodnight).
