Patrick O’Keefe’s focus in media work is to explore the relationship between narrative and design, for animation, live action and stage performance. Get Up, Mr. O’Keefe’s final work at the Emily Carr Institute, is a hip hop dance piece that serves as a blend of his unique urban design sense and his love for music, it depicts a raw urban vibe with its integration of design, dance and illustration. GET UP was shot on Super 16 mm reversal and all the illustrations were created by Mr. O’Keefe himself.
