22˝× 28˝× 2˝, oil on canvas
This is the second painting in the series called Araby II which is currently composed of three paintings based on the collected images of figures from a various party scenes. I am fascinated by the dramatic change of atmosphere in parties as the tremendous amount of energy is being created, consumed and finally depleted. I am specifically interested in the scene when the party is over. It is the time when people are physically and mentally consumed and reveals their forms defenselessly. The images work as the direct visual interpretations of consequence of consumption in the series. The collected images are cut and pasted into a painting, maximizing the feeling I got from the scene of after party.
