36˝× 48˝ acrylic and found materials
My creative process is primarily driven by an interest in the aesthetics of our current industrial reality. I work with found material that is the by-product of a consumer-based system gripped in a crisis of over production. This piece is meant to comment on the juxtaposition of an emerging information economy that is immaterial and is, conversely, built on the back of a more visceral industrial environment. The result, I feel, is a metaphorical industrial landscape blended with a traditional sense of pictorial depth, addressing my aesthetic concerns and an overall sense of pessimism towards our future withinin this crisis.
