Tegan’s sculptural work describes her hopefulness in objects, and the ability that an object or material has to contain qualities of specific ephemeral environments. She is concerned with the potential of materials that have subtle physical qualities to surpass their low-status use-value. These materials are used for provisional purposes to protect or contain objects of value. Her fascination derives from an interest in how our memory of surfaces lack the hierarchies of value that uphold those surfaces, rendering them contemplative, yet situated so readily into daily life.
