Motivated by a desire to create a dialogical and empathetic engagement between viewer and subject, I tie my works together with an autobiographical thread. Each work is inspired by an event, emotion, or experience, all of which have somehow impacted the construction of my identity. These, however, do not go unmediated. I am not interested in representing fact, so much as I am interested in gesturing towards lived experience, engendering a space between fact and fiction where interpretation and meaning can unveil and shift.
