This piece is called Emptiness. Recently I have been trying to understand a philosophical concept from Buddhism, which states that everything visible is empty; the immaterial is the material; and everything in the whole universe is an illusion. This piece represents a clothes hanger without anything on it, showing that it can also take a form by which nothing hangs from it. In this world of consumption, we emphasize the material too much — although it is sometimes what is not there that is more important.
