I make video- and sculpture-based work that offers a critique of capitalism and democracy through the appropriation of the western canon of art history and popular culture. I’m interested in how democracy and capitalism work to shape bodies of knowledge. My production of video and 3D works are often handmade and low-tech; offering a juxtaposition between the idea and an object’s manifestation. My work is a critique, but due to its nature as a failure, the work points to the way that a critique of capitalism and democracy is not possible.
