hover is a 10-minute video consisting of parallel sequences, which play at five percent of normal speed. The video depicts a game of catch between a father and his son. While this activity is comforting in its familiarity, the extremely slow movement of the player’s bodies evokes an uncanny sense of disorientation in the viewer. By disrupting the linear causality of movement in space, this work exposes the relationship between time and movement and allows the viewer to contemplate time in its pure state - as duration.
